Sonder Los Angeles - Elevating Everyday Essentials

Our story began with a cutting board - or rather, the lack of one that met our needs. We sought a board that was beautiful, functional, and affordable, but couldn't find one that we'd be as excited to use as to display on our counters. That's why we developed Sonder LA - to bring you home products you'll use daily, without ever looking "everyday."

Co-founders Tiffany and Tarek were driven by a commitment to sustainability. We manufacture as close to the material sources as possible to reduce our environmental impact. Whenever feasible, we source FSC-certified materials from 100% sustainable plantations. We believe everyone can make a positive impact, as simple as choosing a wooden board over plastic. Wood is more durable and outlasts plastic with proper care.

Safety and non-toxicity are paramount. Our products are free of BPA, phthalates, and formaldehyde - a century-old reinvention, blending form and function to be as beautiful as useful. Regular oiling is vital for board health and durability, preventing excess moisture where bacteria thrive and protecting against drying, cracking, and warping.

While knife marks are a sign your board is doing its job (wood is softer, protecting blades), the beauty of our wooden products lies in their unique grains and colors from Mother Nature. No two will be identical, but all will be similar - your board is one of a kind.
