Real Milk Paint Co.'s vision was born in a small, blue, Pennsylvania barn. Our founder, Dwayne Siever, discovered that the modern-day paints lacked the same look, texture, and feel as the paints used on the antiques he was working on, and the reason was they used milk paint. After this realization, Dwayne began creating his own small batches of milk paint using traditional, natural ingredients to get back to the roots of the paint.

One of the products available is the DARK HALF, which is a pre-mixed blend of Dark Tung Oil and Orange Peel Oil for wood finishing. This thinner formula penetrates into the wood pores and builds a dark matte wood finish.

The DARK HALF has multiple uses, including finishing countertops, bowls, butcher blocks, cutting boards, chopping blocks, wood floors, and concrete. It is also food-grade, making it safe for food contact, and a great penetrating oil for use on wooden kitchen items such as chopping boards.

The all-natural DARK HALF wood finish is waterproof, with 3 to 5 coats needed to seal. The all-natural oil, which includes a natural resin, gives it a dark matte finish and helps achieve a natural wood grain, antique look. The finish takes 7-10 days to develop water resistance and 30 days for a complete cure.
