Blended Walnut Counter Top with Oil Finish for John Boos

This John Boos Blended Walnut Kitchen Counter Top is both attractive and functional, providing a tough duty cutting surface everywhere you need it. Each counter top is constructed with full length exterior rails and random finger-jointed interior rails. The top is made from top grade American Black walnut that was sustainably harvested and is finished with a food-safe penetrating oil. This oil finish is the same factory finish John Boos uses with their world famous cutting boards and butcher blocks, and it helps with water resistance and spill clean-up. During installation, please note that an overhang of 8 inches or more (width), and 12 inches or more (length) must be stabilized with support. These beautiful blended walnut countertops are Made in the USA by skilled craftspeople and are designed to enhance and compliment any style of kitchen design/décor. These highly functional countertops are easy-care alternatives to granite or stone counters, and can be used as a food prep and cutting surface.

Varnique (sealed/finished) versions of this countertop are available and sold separately. It is important to note that these items were intentionally built this way with a mind to sustainability, to respect and utilize all parts of the wood. Any irregularity on the reverse side (that will be installed facing downwards) would be very small, does not indicate a defect, and will not impact the function or use of the top. If you plan to cut into your countertop nevertheless, be advised that metal fasteners are used in blended-grain countertops to add structural strength.
